For the first time in 34 years, the Barons will begin the season with someone other than Mike Williams heading the sidelines.

After the legendary coached retired at the end of the 2014 season, the Barons tapped assistant Dave Hahn to filled Williams' big shoes.

“You know, I don’t know if it’s extra pressure, I mean… it’s self-induced pressure. I want our team to be good, I want to represent our community and our town well," Hahn said. "So I put that pressure on myself. I don’t know if I’ve necessarily gotten that pressure from anywhere else.”

Hahn is inheriting a team that went 8-4 in 2014 and made it to the second round of the District 3 Class AAA playoffs before falling to Bishop McDevitt.

“I think the biggest change is being upbeat, run the different drills, always moving always trying to be active," senior fullback Craig McKee said. "I think our practices are a lot more upbeat now, we do a lot more running and stuff in practice now that coaches have changed.”

Central's new coach is surely excited than he inherited a 1,600-yard rusher in incoming senior Damon Camacho, who also added 16 rushing touchdowns in 2014.

The Barons will need a new quarterback in 2015 with the departure of Tony Staffieri. The job could be handed to junior Kody Kegarise who spelled Staffieri a few times last year.

As the 2015 approaches, it will be interesting to see what new looks, if any, the Barons might have in Hahn's first year.

“Kids are doing great. The kids are adapting well. They’re moving around, you see them flying around thefield, doing the things we’re asking to do," Hahn said. "Haven’t seen any negative behaviors or any complaining. They’ve been great.”
